Steve Reid is an American jazz percussionist, best known as a founding member of The Rippingtons. Reid began playing as a session musician in the 1970s, playing on hundreds of recordings.〔(Steve Reid ) at Allmusic〕 Reid cofounded The Rippingtons in 1987 and also played with Supertramp in 1987-88.
